HP DL380p
We have nine of these which are used as Labs virtualization servers: labvirt1001-1009. The iLO (aka 'mgmt') console works the same as the DL3N0 boxes, so refer to that page for mgmt commands.
10g nics disabled
These servers have 2 10g ports (on board) and 4 1g ports (on an expansion card). We are not currently using the 10g ports, so they are disabled in the bios. PCI devices (e.g. NICs) can be enabled or disabled via the rbsu interface, which is entered by pushing F9 or esc-9 during boot.
rbsu> SHOW PCI DEVICE ENABLE/DISABLE rbsu> SET PCI DEVICE ENABLE/DISABLE <entrynum> 0
Enable virtualization
While you're in rbsu anyway, enable virtualization and hyperthreading:
rbsu> SET CONFIG INTEL(R) VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGY 1 rbsu> SET CONFIG INTEL(R) HYPERTHREADING OPTIONS 1
No kidding, there is actually a trademark symbol in the command.
Drive config
The servers have two types of drives: 2x146GB and 16x300GB. The 146GB drives are combined into a raid-1 to contain the OS, the 300GB drives combined in a raid10 for VM and image storage.
Raids are hardware, configured in the system bios. F8 (or ctrl-s on some systems) during startup enters the storage config tool
